I'm Kareem Felfel, CEO of Synaptix. I get asked some version of the same question by almost every new prospect, whether they're five minutes from our office or five time zones away: where are you actually based, and does that matter for my project? This post is the honest answer.

Synaptix is a software development and SEO agency headquartered in Bel Air, Maryland. That single fact shapes two very different parts of how we work: it puts us within driving distance of Baltimore, Harford County, and Philadelphia for businesses who want a technical partner they can actually sit down with, and it's also almost incidental to the bulk of our client work, since most of the products and campaigns we run are for clients we've never met in person, spread across the country and overseas.

Where we're based, and who we serve nearby

Bel Air is a small town in Harford County, Maryland, close enough to Baltimore to make in-person meetings, whiteboard sessions, and site visits a normal option rather than a special trip. Gigswap is a marketplace app connecting DJs, producers, and music professionals worldwide, built with location-based discovery, real-time chat, and ID/face verification; it reached a Beta release with 1,500+ subscribed users. Fe y Aventura Tours is a bilingual (Spanish/English) travel booking platform for a pilgrimage and cultural travel agency, with Stripe-powered payment links and real-time payment notifications that replaced manual invoice chasing. SFL is a sports league management app, currently in active development, built to run recreational football leagues end-to-end: registration, snake-draft team picking, GPS/QR match check-in, and live standings. CoachPilot is a dual web-and-mobile coaching platform for online fitness coaches, with AI-generated meal and workout plans and real-time coach-to-client chat, currently in its founding-coach beta.

None of these clients were required to be within driving distance of Bel Air, and most weren't. What they had in common was a real product problem and a team willing to work through the same structured process we'd run for a client down the street.
